I don't think clutching gets much simpler than the Polaris set up? Which BTW is really no different that the Can-Am set up,except maybe a little better because the Popo uses a roller secondary..both are a really simple design though...

Can-Am has 4wheel engine braking, and doesn't require any special fluids. The only thing on a Can-Am that can be a PITA to substitute is the one way bearing grease,but it is still not a BRP labeled product.

EBS is not an add on...it is a sprag clutch in the primary clutch..."EBS" is just marketing...it is just as "built in" as any of them. Only it doesn't affect the front tires,again the Can-Am method of engine braking is similar,but it does act on the front wheels without need for an "ADC" type system.

Can-Am has no magnetic hubs,newer Polaris don't have magnetic "hubs" everything is contained in the diff....and both the Polaris and the Can-Am powersteering have been reported by those who have ridden all the EPS machines to far superior..

 

I think if you ask most people they will admit that they have had "other" brands before their Polaris or have ridden them. I had an ARCTIC CAT. Not a bad machine just underpowered (with my model) then I traded up for a SP450 and went from there once I got my first Polaris, hooked. lol...lol

I have to be honest the only thing I am unhappy with my Polaris is just for hilling (current rear suspension=center of gravity a little off). But again working on that issue, all in all most catagories I am happy with my Polaris. Biggest complaint is that I NEVER GET TO RIDE ENOUGH!....8-)

H.O, what is with the Can Am references? I was merely stating my thoughts on the Grizz, which is only my opinion, not Holy Gospel or anything like that, picking apart my post to defend Polaris was not the response I was looking for, just giving the "Yamaha" point of view. You have your points as well, but the last statement,that "all Can Am and Polaris riders stated their EPS was far superior " is also an opinion, I'm sure based a lot on brand loyalty. All quads have their good and bad points, I was merely standing up for the Grizz because it was starting to sound like a lot of sour grapes because a magazine a lot of people don't care for picked one brand over another, and it wasn't your favorite,so naturally, they were biased, bought out, or mentally challanged. Mags are always going to run articles that not everyone can agree with, for whatever reason they have, next month, I'm sure I'll see an article that rubs me the wrong way as well, but thats freedom of the press, and I'll just have to live with it.

 

I basically read reviews of ANY product in ANY magazine as purely "entertainment"....LOL

 

Your post was obviously pointing out things that you feel are better about the Grizz than a Popo..so you narrowed the field...was that the only 2 brands of machines they looked at?
Anyway,I was just posting a few FACTS about Polaris and Can-Ams that don't jibe with your opinions..that is all. Yes alot of things are opinion,but 99% of waht you pointed out is refuted by FACT...Fact and opinion...well that is a matter of opinion lol..for example one guy might like a tippy machine,maybe he likes to ride on 2 wheels? While another might like a stable machine? For the first guy the tippy machine is better because he can get it up on 2 wheels easier lol...so yeah get right down to it and everything is opinion...but there is things that I think it is safe to say that the majority would prefer.
I am not brand loyal at all. Freedom of the press..great...I'm all about it...but I am also all about freedom of speach when it comes to people keeping the bias advertising BS in check. If I want to know how great XYZ machine is I can just check out the manufacturers website lol.

IMO there are maybe 2 "magazine" type sources that can be trusted to do anything other than advertise and make money, ATV TV and Jacobs...the rest of them are a joke at best when it comes to impartiality....point is... maybe the Grizz is the best..maybe it isn't but I would take the opinions of owners on the forums far before I took the opinions of any big name mags...yes some times they have some iside info from the factory that is useful,the other 1/2 the time they report technically inaccurate info and cause confusion at best..

 

EVERY mag sells advertising. Just look at the reviews over the years. It's rather easy to see.

 

The ATV world needs a magazine like MCN-Motorcycle Consumer News. No advertising--the mag is supported only by subscription $$.

 

There is one... Jacobs ATV Magazine... it just happens to be only an online magazine.

 

BTW..if you go look in the Can-Am section someone posted the ATV.com 2010 Can-Am Outlander non-XT review awhile back..it was all good,with the usual 1 or 2 little things that they didn't just abosolutely love. See what I said about that. I said "I'm not sure why they even bothered...should have just copied an pasted the 2009 review"..actually they probably for the most part..lol.
