What do I think? The review must be a joke? lol
Seriously 99% of the Mag reviews are either biased or make every machine sound great. Some have bias towards a certain brand, like DW. Others make them all sound great and pick a few small things about each to call as negative..big name Mag reviews are a joke IMO..and that doesn't just go for ATV mags...it's all politics and money...

All these magazines are is an advertising medium for the industry. They don't mean squat and have very little validity. Same with most big name ATV websites.....all hogwash. It's all about sales and marketing. Look at it this way....if an ATV review is given by a magazine, they don't BUY the ATV to review it. They are given them to "test" by the manufacturer and then returned. In return for a favorable review, they will get others to "test" and the magazine will get to keep selling mags to the unsuspecting reader. The ATV makers will then advertise in the mag (much money involved for the mag's pocket). So if an honest review ever came out that says a particular ATV is not good at much of anything....or is otherwise unfavorable, that maker would not allow there ATV to be tested by them again AND they would not buy advertising space. It's all a big business thing. This is why it's so much better to read honest reviews by individuals such as on this website. I also really like the folks over at atvtv.com and the fantastic honesty they have when they test ATV's. That's why you'll see that some makers will not loan them quads to test anymore since they are brutally honest (Honda and Arctic Cat got an unfavorable review...and so they stopped loaning them quads to test).

You know what gets me? Not so much of the huge BIAS toward the North American made Quads (I.E Polaris, Can-am, Arctic Cat) but its that almost ALL the mags, are UNISON pretty much in most reviews. (Shoot outs reports etc.)
Translation = MOST SAY THE SAME THINGS about what most already know! Where is the originality? To be fair though alot of recent issues mags have given Polaris alot of good publicity with the XP and RZR reviews!
(My input from reading DW, Quad, ATV-4Wheel Action etc.) I agree I like QUAD b/c of their great tips, tricks articles on product reviews, maintenance, hacks etc., QUAD-R.I.P!
Cheers,

Well, it's because it's not about being original or 'real'.....it's about cash flow. Cars, quads, motorcycles, watercraft, etc.....it's all pretty much the same BS. These mags have great photo's, somewhat interesting articles (not very though), lot's of advertisements, and they make good filler for the recycle/trash bin. If you go back 5 to ten years on these mags and look at what ATV's they say were great....you would have a laugh since many turned out to be real problematic and not worthy of a good write up.

Grizzlies seem like they are great machines. They also seem to be of excellent quality build, and very reliable. We ride with two Grizzlies, and the guys love them (and have had them in the past), and say they are "Honda's with features". (Sorry Honda guys LOL)
However, to say they are the "Best Big Bore" considering all factors is purely subjective, and probably in the case of Dirt Wheels... very biased. There are better sources of more "objective" reviews. Even then, a lot of it is personal preference.
I read another review in a magazine that had the 850 XP EPS as the Big Bore winner with the Can AM 800 XT second. In the mid class range, the Grizzly 550 EPS was the winner, with the 550 XP second, and only because of the engine vibration/shake/high idle.
Keep in mind I'm saying that with the very real possibility that I may be getting a Grizzly.

In defense of the Grizzly, just looking over the features,I have to lean toward the more "simplistic" drivetrain of the Yamaha, Ultramatic keeps the belt under tension, less moving parts with primary and driven clutch like on Polaris. No list of special fluids needed for ADC, or add ons like EBS to give engine braking that Yamaha has built in. No magnetic hubs with their own special fluid and wiring that can fail. Yamaha was first with EPS,a feature everyone is scrambling to copy and add to their models. Not bashing other brands, just saying, there are lots of differences in the manufacturers out there, and Dirt Wheels just picked "their" favorite, doesn't make it right, or say everything else is bad, just their opinion, take it or leave it.
