I spent the weekend riding my 2000 Xplorer 400. The mods we did Friday really helped! I added a Aaen trail pipe, KN airfilter, clutchkit, rejetted the carb. The positives are: It definitely increased the speed throughout. Its very strong in the mid range. It also took the topend up a bit. The negatives are: Its going to take me a while to get used to the ringping ding noise!
Its louder and a bit irritating. You feel like you have to keep it wound up and cant put around on it.
Thanks

I too just finished installing some mods on my 2000 Scrambler 400 2x4, I went with a HPD nickel pipe, aggressive clutch kit and v-force reed valve. The bike runs really great all the way through the power band now and really has nice throttle response. Im sure I will be content now untill its time for a re-ring and piston change, then I might go with HPD;s trail porting and a cool head?? Hopefully thats a long way off though!!
