My 2009 500EFI fuel gauge reads full for a long time then drops quickly.

Been like this since new. Maybe it has to do with the shape of the tank.

 

Mine reads full all time , I'm going to see if its stuck this weekend.

 

I am resurrecting this thread since I don't want to reinvent the thread.

My 2008 (sold to my best friend) EFI Sportsman 800 will flash Fuel Gauge whether empty or full . He tried the unstick hack with wire hanger and DID NOT resolve problem. Bike runs great though just seems to be a sensor or wire or another electric issue.

Any other Suggestions before taking apart yo troubleshoot or take to service?

Possible the internal float is saturated or you have a broken wire. You can match the complete assy with an Airtex pump at Auto zone,Napa if need be.

 

do you have a part number I can go off ? My fuel pump is junk due to people stealing it and trying to hack it back to working again. I have a 08 sportsman 500 HO touring
