Low miles and hours

Another Polaris is the Magnum. Not as many made and sold as a Sportsman though. And not as comfortable a ride. But, if he has served in the military I'm sure he can handle it. It has a straight axle and has a 330 or 500 engine. It was the first Polaris with the under the front rack storage. ATPs are a decent find too. Great work oriented quad. Same engine choices available. They were only out for 2 years before Polaris went to the Sportsman X2. These quads are usually cheaper than the Sportsman. Say thank you to your brother from us here at the forum for his service. We appreciate all our military men and women do for our country.

if 1k is wore out. ida had to replace my 2000 sportsman 7 times in the 8 yrs i owned it, and my nee 08 almost has 2k on it. ill agree with TLC...
i think 1k its just starting to be broke in... 10k then id say its about at its half life.... but then it all depends on who rides it, and if it was taken care of. if it has alot of miles and its clean. it seem to me it was taken care of. and if the owner has a log of what and when was done you know it was taken care of. i keep a long on mine. and it says in the rear cargo box....

Even a SP 400 will work. Also the TRX300 4x4 is a great machine. It sits smaller to the ground & is light. Not as comfortable as a Sportsman but its a great machine that goes everywhere.
One thing I have learned over my 41 years. YOU NEVER ASK FOR PERMISSION!! ITS EASIER TO BEG FOR FORGIVNESS!!!!!! (then you have it & you can not return it!) ;-)

Well he did'nt have a choice on the permission part. They found out they're getting quite a hefty tax return and she said find one and then turned around and decided she wanted new flooring and what not for the house, hence: spending budget cut on his part. (typical woman)
Tell him I feel his pain, and thank him for his service.

Don't you worry I'll let him know as if I don't talk him up enough. I would have loved being out there by his side fighting but uncle sam says I'm damaged. (permanantly damaged acl from an atv crash at age 16) I get around fine but can barely muster a mile run without being in severe pain. Had I gone to the doc way back when it happened I'd probably be ok but back then I was taught to walk it off and would be fine in a few of days.

Yeah, I flew on a flight from Boston's Logan Airport on 9/11/01 and didn't learn what had happened and how close we were to the terrorists until after we landed in Florida. We left minutes before they landed in Boston from Maine. When I flew back a week later I looked into signing up to be an Air Marshal. I was 37 at the time and they said I was too old. Guess we'll have to leave it to the younger, less damaged guys. I've hurt my back since then.

(slightly older than you)I still think using older guys would be a big plus. You know we don't have the patience them younger fellas do.

OK guys I've located a quad for my brother. It's a late 90's honda trx 300 4x4 in fair condition but runs great. I've ridden it personally.(One of my friends) I'll be heading over to Ohio sunday for the big game and haggle on the wheeler over a few brews. I'm thinking it's worth according to nada about $1200 giver take. which will leave some cash for a winch and what not. Is there anything I should be aware of on these models or are they pretty reliable. I really don't want to get brother on somthing I'm going to be fixing all the time. He's pretty good with a weapon in hand but sucks a$$ with a wrench.

i wanted one of those when i was s kid. but in the lat 90s i decided i wanted a polaris just becuse you can shut off the 4wd.. and the polaris are actuly 4x4 insted on 3x4..
i think there rock solid. i also think the older hondas are built better than the newer ones. supose you could always go over the the honda section and see what they have to say about it...
