Which reed kit for 400 Xplorer?
#1
Has anyone put a reed kit in their 400 Xplorer?
I put on an AAen pipe, clutchkit, proper jetting and a KN airfilter. It's really very fast now! Im pretty sure it runs between 65 and 70mph. Its very hard to ride half throttle ... the engine sounds terrible at half throttle but once I open it up it takes off like a rocket.

PaulC, I choose the Ram Valve setup over the Delta Force for a couple of reasons.
First I like the idea of a aluminum reed cage, it may be unfounded but plastic composites just scare me.
Second, adjustable reeds on the Delta force just aren't somthing I care to mess with.
Third, the ram valve has been around a long time and its durability is proven.
Delta Force users claim better gains than the Ram valve but it's minimal. I would rather have a bullet proof system. I guess I'm after reliability and performance at the same time.

I have the delta v-force reed cage. It provides excellent throttle response throughout the whole power band. I don't know much about the rad valve but you can't go wrong with aluminum. Either one would be an excellent choice. It will really give you more snap in the throttle.
