I actually got it at the local Yamaha dealer. They could get it on order in only 2 days. If I remember right it was about 240$ canadian...about 160$ american. Rocky mountain had the best price in the US that I knew of.

Xplor,
Great looking machine! If the weasles at the Pennsylvania DCNR ever get around to getting us real licence plates (like you have on yours) I might just change the plastic on mine to red. I kind if hate to bring this up, but what did you do to the radiator cover? Is that paint, or did you strip it and clear coat it? I'd like to change the color of mine to red. The hand guards are sweet, too. Where did you get them.
A bit of advise, though. If you don't want the pipe to get all gunked up from your riding gear, you might want to consider some kind of pipe guard for it. The coatings work well in keeping the pipe cool, but I'm more worried about abrading that nice pipe with dirt and dried mud. I used a piece of aluminum with a plastic outer cover over it on mine. Just pop rivet it to the plastic and go!

Nice job. Must have taken quite some time to get it the way you did.
I noticed you listed all the mods, do you have a cost estimate, or would that get you into hot water with the boss (wife).
Note to all single men. You may THINK your wife will never boss YOU around. All I can say is yea......right. Also, if you find one that doesn't, that only means she didn't get you to say 'I do' yet.

Mike... I tried reinstalling the stock pipe guard but it is too tight a fit. I will most likely do some sort of pipe guard because it was super hot even through my snowmobile pants. Either trim the stock one, or a flat piece about 2 inches wide from front to back...next project!
Farmer123... I am up to about 4000$ canadian which is about 2700$ US... not bad so far. The wife knows unfortunately. She got her new sofas in exchange. Another 1000$ and I am ready to rock!
EasterEgg... I was able to beat the Banshee only because his throttle was sticking and we were riding on slush. We only made it about 1000 feet before turning back. After a gas tank or two I will open her up for the real test! Zorro is already talking about mods...LOL

By the way Mike, I did strip the front bumper and rad guard. I have not finished because it is long and tedious. I found out the hard way "not" to use the grinder. It just cuts right through.
The handguards I bought from the local Honda (did I say the H word?) dealer. They have a great choice of parts and accessories. They come with the MSR logo already in place...not sure what the model is.
