Modified Scrambler up and running... pics to show too!

Kevin, I heard so much about "rotating mass" that I decided to cut a couple dozen 1/2" holes in my chainguard. I knocked off two pounds+. It is supposed to be the equivalent of 14 lbs normal weight...is this true??? Who knows. The stock chain guard could also be thinned out to loose more weight. It feels like a piece if cast iron...

Xplor,
FTR makes a bumper for the Scrambler that looks awesome. I saw it in an ATV mag the other day. They also make a radiator guard. It would look way cool on your awesome Scram. I don't think they have a website yet, or I haven't found it. I am going to buy a seat cover from them for my Scram....has a fanny pack at the back woohoo!
Regards,
MrMan

Xplor,
Love those pics. Your quad looks just like a bubby of mine. He has the FMF muffler, chrome rims, and Dirt Devil rubber. When I order my Aluminum rims and tires from Rocky Mt. I will get that FMF Turbine Muffler cuz it looks way cool!
I will let you know if my stock exhaust works on that Xplorer or not.

I am still waiting on FTR's catalog by mail. Now if they come out with that new tranny and double A-Arm suspension for the 4x4 Scrambler...I am gonna take out a loan!
The nerfs basically went on as is. I had to cut down the front a bit by about 2 inches. I basically just cut the floorboard supports flush with the frame and eye-fitted the nerfs and pegs. When all was in place I hired a welder to come and weld it all together for me. Sorry, no bolt-on convenience. I tried keeping the front and rear bars of the nerf parallel so thats why the outside bar is curved up a bit. I rivitted the stock aluminum footpegs to 1" steel tube and welded it to the frame. They sit aproximately 1/2" to 1" farthur forward than stock. My heel can rest on the nerf.
