The knees never came back 100% but I was able to ski twice in one week pretty well so I was happy. In this time I decided to get back into carpentry. Good money down here right now. I didn't do roofs anymore and only did small flooring projects like tile and hardwood. When I fell down some slippery stairs helping a friend move I figured I had just pulled something in my back and it would be okay in a couple weeks. Long story-short, I have put on more weight. I've managed to lose about 10 pounds since the start of the year so, hopefully, I can keep going. I'm not good at dieting. I was good at working hard. But, if I had hit my head when I fell, we wouldn't be chatting about our favorite quads and trails, and such. I'm thankful for that.
i had what they call a diskecktemy(a step down from a fusion) last march to fix my back issue. no more pain so it was worth it even though it scared the hell out of me.

After 5 years of being only able to do hard work for an hour or so, I hope I can get something done.

Be VERY careful on the ice! Lots and lots of people and machines are in the cold drink over the last two weeks. It's been warm here in Maine....over 40 degrees for days on end, with rain and some sun, and south of here will be worse. The snow will hide the ice problems further.....Not a good time to be on the ice IMO.

Saddleback Mountain is saying 20" as of 9pm and it's supposed to snow all night! No rain so far. Lifts are closed due to tremendous winds. Our house is moving with the huge gusts. Must be 60mph or more. Moved my young ones to the opposite side of the house where a huge white pine looms. Wind is from the east, which would drop it right on their bedrooms. They're sleeping on the floor of our bedroom now. It's just wicked down here. Hard to believe we still have power.

they are saying on the news today thier is over 100,000 people w/out power as of this morning and the mts area are going to get around 30" of snow. once again it's snowing and blowing this morning but we'll see if it turns to rain again. hopefully you made it thru lst night as the coast is getting hammered has over 4" of rain and bad wind as you mentioned. i have to figure if i'm going to goto work or not as they want be going back north right into this crap. good luck funride and we hope for the best.

Hey FunRide, I live down in Mass and register in Maine as this is the best place close to home (an hour and a half away) that I have found to ride. I have been trying to find out if I were to put tracks on my xp850....could I ride on the snowmobile trails in the winter. i would be more than willing to pay for an additional registration as a snowmobile ....i think that's what you mean by dual registration? So this is legal in the state of Maine?

yes the only way you can ride on the trails in maine w/ tracks is to reg. your bike as a snowmobile as well as a atv to be legal
