Default Warn XT30 Winch Install

Hey all! I am in the process of replacing the Polaris 2500 winch and installing EPI HD springs on my 08 Sportsman 800. I have completed replacing the front springs. I did using spring compressors to remove the old and install the new. I also got the XT30 installed, but when I went to put the grill back on I found that I had to remove the Red extender for the clutch release. I was then able to get the grill back on but I can't get the red part of the winch back on, there is just not enough room. I did use all the same mounting that the was used with the Polaris winch. Was anyone else able to install an XT 25 or 30 while keeping the Red clutch release handle?
Later today I tackle the rear springs.
Thanks!
Shane

If you could post some pics, that would be better, but I believe I had the same trouble as you, when I installed my gorilla, which is basically identical to an XT30, and I had to cut a notch near the back of the "winch compartment, for the handle to fit in there

i thought the xt winches actually mounted more center then the older style like my ci models(same as the polaris 2500) and it uses a differnt mount bracket to center it more? either way i didn't think they were mounting in the same way.

Chuck, that is what I was thinking that I could do. I may get myself another cover to give it that finished look.

O, I read the original post wrong, I thought you meant the inside "tunnel" was hitting, not just the cover. I have the cover off mine, I'd sell you, I have a weird mounting plate, that has a front plate on it, I got off ebay, but it works, so I didn't want to spend another $50 on one to make the cover fit, so I have no use for the cover.

Shoot me a PM with your zip code if you interested, and I'll check shipping, and get you a price

700 you are correct the tunnel is what is hitting, I believe I can move the winch itself over. If I kept the old front cover I would have to just make the hole I cut out larger. I will PM for your cover. Thanks.
