Default Spark but no start

I am in the process of selling a 95 Trailblazer 250, but the guy won't bite yet because of a little problem I am having with it. It has been sitting for about a year now and the last time I ran it, it started fine, but now it won't start at all. I turn the key on, turn it to run, hit the start button and it just makes a click sound and nothing, I tried to pull it and nothing. Checked for spark and it has good spark when pulling it. I just cant figure it out. One person said to jump the relay so I did by putting a screwdriver across the two terminals and I still get nothing but a click when I hit the start button. Please help me out, I really need to unload this thing. Thanks!

Check that your battery is fully charged. These things need about 12.5 volts to crank over. You may need to pull the starter motor out and check the bushes are OK.

Have to agree with above post regarding the battery. Plus...did you drain the gas tank...and go with fresh gas?

welcome to the forum. as mentioned above w/ a full battery you can jump the solenoid w/ the key on to see if it turns over the engine or still clicks. if clicks then the starter is the issues. also you most likely will need to pull the carb off to clean it if it has been sitting for a year w/out being run and replace the gas as it might have gone bad sitting that long w/out stabilizer.

Hey thanks guys for all the help, it is much appreciated. I actually did drain the gas and put fresh in and charged the battery before hand. Today I tried to jump it like you said and still nothing. Took the starter out and cleaned it up, new plug, fiddled with the carb and got'er running. I can't thank you guys enough.
