97 Xpress 300 - Rear Brake Adjustment
I bought this 4wheeler a couple of days ago. The front brakes do stop the unit althougth not to fast. It takes a bit much more to stop the atv than what I would like. The rear brake is pretty much useless. I can see pad left but not being familiar with atv pads im not sure if it is enough. Also the level travels quite a bit before the brake actuates. Is there an adjustment I can make? There is a bolt in the caliper but im not sure. Here is a pic of it.
Thanks!

Stendori please dont take offense on my previous and present post. I appreciate your desire and willingness to help. Trhu the time I have learn that many good people try to help and sometimes post advise that is really just a guess. I have tend to read trhu those and pass on them. By your own account you wrote that you are guessing and not familiar with the set up then close with a "imo"... That is why I passed on it. Now, it seems to me that is was an educated guess.
I will try to adjust it tomorrow.
Thanks both of you.

BTW, the front brakes will not stop the atv when I use that little latch in the level that I supposed should work as an emergency brake. Where is the adjustment for that brake? I will probably bleed all of the old oil tomorrow after setting the brakes but it looks like it needs adjustment. It felt hard compared to a 500 that I checked today at a shop.
Thanks for all the help.

I did adjust the screw on the caliper and got it much better. I did bleed the front first then when I went to bleed the back the bleeding bolt was frozen bad and I could not tell that it was not moving until it broke. So no bleeding the rear brake and hopefully I wont need to in the close future as now I have no way to do it.
