there are tons of threads pertaining to this topic as it is your contact and depending on the year they are under recall.

Sounds like the contactor... but don't assume it.
Anyhow, is it a 4 post contactor, or an 8 post? If it's a 4 post, any of the new contactors should work. I would suggest another Warn or a new Viper contactor. If it's the rocker switch, I would stick with a Warn. They should all be the same... one hot wire, and two signal wires going to the bottom of contactor.
Check, clean and put some dialectic grease on ALL connections (including to the battery) before you start buying stuff. It could be a loose/corroded connection anywhere. The winch (and contactor) need a pretty good supply of juice to function properly.

test the switch. find out where the switch wires connect to the contractor via 2 bullet type plugs. unplug the wires. take a test light and check the plugs while pushing the up and down buttons. if the test light lights up on both wires. ill bet its the contractor. but if its clicking its mostlikly the contractor. just cuz its clicking dont mean its working.
