Default testing fan

got an '07 predator 500. haven't gotten to ride it much yet but did ride around the back yard the other day for a bit. the hoses and radiator feel pretty hot but I noticed that the fan never came on. the temp light never came on either. I just want to be sure its all working properly. would it hurt to have the fan on all the time?

Disconnect the fan leads and with a set of jumbers go direct to a 12v battery to see if it turns. I would not want a noisy fan running 100% of the time it would make warm up on colder days take longer and wear the fan out prematurely.
