i just blew the axel carrier bearings in my 01 scrambler 500
i ordered new bearing kit
NOW FOR THE CHALLENGE
HOW TIGHT DO I MAKE THE AXEL NUT,ROTOR HUB OR SPROCKET HUB???
DONT SAY TECH BOOK.

*book doesn't say it*
*dealer says make them snug*

i can do it but i just dont know how tight to make them
im not taking chances on either of them,i have to much money involved in this thing.
any 1 that can help would b great thanks.

 

i think initial preload is 40 ft.lbs.(very tight) then loosen nut to wear you can make the axle spin,but no play in bearings.it's not an exact science but when you get it back together and do it, you will understand.
