cv boot for 97 sportsman 500

Default cv boot for 97 sportsman 500

I cant find the rear inner cv boot on the parts fiche does anyone know if the front is the same as the rear or are they differant.

you mean the univeral joint? the out side toward the wheel is thre cv joint part of it onthe earlier bikes. looking at the parts break down it only list one under cv joint so maybe all 4 sides take the same.

the back one is by the rear end and is a u joint by the tire if im thinking right

the cv joint is out by the tire and the univeral is inside near the transmission. the outside had the slpined shaft which goes thru the wheel hub and mounted w/ the big nut to hold it on.

The 97 only had u joints, there was no CVs on the 97 Sportsman. I think it was 98 that CVs were first used.

I was mistaken so im gonna need the slip joint boot. My memory isnt too good any more it seems thanks

the break down i saw was on a 97 w/ the outter side being a cv joint.

Thats odd we own a gneen 97 SP500. we have to grease a ujoint on each end of the shaft.

i know huh. maybe the parts brake down is wrong, and sense you have one i would tend to think you know as you can see it lol.

Maybe they made a improved replacement axle, with aleast one cv on the outside now.
