Default Rear HD Springs

Put some new tires on my 08 800 HO, 27" Mudlite XTR on 14" SS212 black rims, problem is when hit a fair size bump, tires rub on plastic. This also happened to a buddy of mine (08 800 touring) and he installed the EPI HD rear springs. I believe the rating for the EPI springs that he installed are 125 #/in, problem is they still rub if he hits a fair size bump with passenger on board. I looked up some of the older models and found the heaviest spring on the sportsman X2 was in 2007 and was rated at 130/150#/in. Will these springs fit on my 08 800 HO? I know it will really stiffen up ride, but better than cutting into my plastics. Sorry, part # of my springs that are in bike now are: 7043091-067 rated at 100 #/in and the ones I would like to put in are: 7043242-067 out of the 2007 800 X2

Others feel free to chime in but I'm pretty sure they will work. Your most expensive but best performing option would be to contact the folks at Elka. Crazy expensive shocks but they are adjustable and can be tailored to meet your riding needs.

Thanks for the reply Switzomatic. I checked out the Elka products and yes they are very expensive. If the spring fix would work for sure I think I would go for it, but want to verify it before I order springs.
