Battery dead NO START with pull cord??

why don't you disconnect the battery and see if it will pull start at home so you know what would happen.

Get one of those rechargable jumpstart things with the built in air compressor and flashlight built in so if your battery does go dead just hook it up and giver a start. Also the little air compressor could pump up the tire if you get a flat.

if you have some buddies that go with you, take a set of jumper cables thats what i have to do beings that my 700 has no pull start

Pretty pointless to have a back up pull starter then. On my 2001 I rode it for a month with a dead battery and just pull started it every time before finally getting a new battery.

It will not start with a dead battery even with the recoil.has to have battery voltage present approx 5 volts to run efi and dc ignition system.
