was going around tree thought i heard exhaust leak gave it some gas the noise got louder shut it off and it was leaking oil underneath it i guess it was valve come loose and i guess it drop a valve..and locked motor down...

 

Not knowing how **** your dealer is on warranty stuff make sure you have it clean as new before bringing it in. Heard a few horror stories from folks getting hosed on warranties because the wheeler was muddy in places they feel it shouldn't be and blame it on abuse. Definitely sucks you had that happen on a new machine. Haven't heard of motor issues yet.

Take you side panels off and look to see if valve pushed out from between the head and valve cover.We had one valve cover gasket push out on a 09 850 even after the valve cover breather recall was done.I know recall was on 09 850.was it cold out when this happened to your 850?

update yes it blew up.. BUT NOT DUE TO THE MOTOR PROBLEMS.... Damn stick got into the oil filter and push it to the side and the seal let the oil out while i was driving and did not notice until i got to the trees....Again i am sorry to not find out what the problem was before i open my mouth...

 

I am going to guess that warranty won't cover it but will Insurance cover it? I mean it's like taking a boat out on the lake and hiting a rockpile with the motor. How would you have known that a stick would fly up and knock the oil filter off.
I hope you get it fixed.
