Default Sp500 Bad rings or ....?

I have an 06 sp500 and I check my oil and it had a hint of a gas smell to it.

After I got home from riding I checked it again and it was about 3/4 of a quart low. So I checked my air box and it had the missing oil in there and it really smelled of gas.

So is it my rings or .....?

is the crank vent clogged or blocked? just wondering if too much pressure is pushing it out?

is it possible you just had too much oil in crankcase and it just pushed it out into airbox?

Ill check the vent line and let you know, I checked the oil before I went went riding and it was a little low, so I added a maybe 2-3 oz.

Well I did see a crank case vent and I looked in the service manual and could not find anything.

Don,t worry about it, you where climbing and descending steep hills or tip the ATV over and the oil goes from the crank vent hose into the air box. It happened to me a few times.

The gas smell also is part of it.

You need rings when your missing 3/4 of a quart and your air box is dry, LOL

Ride on.

I had mine turn over on me during a winter ride. I got a little oil in the airbox and the filter smells like gas and oil. It happens.
