Default Stupid plastic rollercages!!!!

I know this topic has been beat to death but can someone please explain to me why you atv would have even the slightest possibility of slamming into awd when the switch is in 2wd? I change my fluid very regularly. i never had any problems with that until my first rollercage blew up which i just blamed on fatigue and big tires, but it never ever slammed into awd drive when the rear wheels were spinning, then i get this replacement rollercage from polaris its thicker and its black so i figure problem solved, well long story short it slammed one too many times and broke again thought about going with the john deere one but then what breaks if that don't so i don't know. but it better not slam into awd again that is just dumb i guess spinnin around like a dang kid probably is dumb too but i just love it. well sorry to vent later guys

I have a few questions to add to this.

Is replacing the roller cage something a person can do alone or is it real hard to do.

How much is it to have a dealer fix it?

I have heard that the john deere one stresses other parts but i dont remember.

If i dont change awd when the wheels are spinning will i be fine, can i do it when im moving and see mud comming up?

A person can do it fairly easily by themselves, I've done two, on one my 700 and another on a friend's. The John Deere cage is the same exact part as the updated Polaris cage, people just go that route to save money.

Check the sticky at the top of the forum page. I thought there was John Deere parts in one of them for replacing the roller cage?

well bit the bullet on the john deere roller cage and rollers hope like heck i never have to fix that damn thing again those of u that have used them do they work good? i guess at my john deere dealer in town the cage was 75 bucks and the rollers were 25 so i will take a chance for a 100 bucks rather than 250 for the polaris plastic junk
