i have a 2003 polaris sp 400 and for some reason the right rear axle keeps wearing th e fastest.when i bought it the guy said he had t oreplace alot of boots on the right rear and now i have replaced the the half shaft once back in august 2009 and now its clicking again. only when your in reverse and turn right.is there anything that im doing wrong.just like last august.the other prblem for my machine is the winch.when i tryed to to pull a quad out( not over 1000lbs of tention) my winch started to pull and the grinded. we flipped the freee wheel *** back and forth and push it in to the bottom. it grinded again but with bearly any tention it goes in adn out normally. is this the gear inside of the housing.
my dad has a 2004 polaris sp 600 and he has a polaris winch also. but his willl go out but when u push the in button it does nothing. is this the rocker switch or the little box at the back of the bike that has i think is the relay.
if anyone no's anyting please help. please tell what atv your talking about.

I would look and see if the rear arm is bent in any direction causing more bind on the shaft or messing up the suspension travel. Could be bent up,down, forward or backwards. Also check all the rear bushings to make sure the rear suspension isn't moving around more then it should.
If you are tearing up the cv boots I would get better boot guards.
