05 Sportsman 700 EFI fuel pump jumper
Anyone else ever had issues with the little jumper plug on the fuel pump?
It is abount a 4" long jumper of 3 wires. I don't understand why there is even a plug like that in the first place. There are 2 connectors 4" apart.
I went to fire it up on one of the coldest days of the year to plow and it wouldn't fire. I knew there was a issue with the fuel pump because I quickly realized the fuel pump wasn't humming up when I turned the key on. I found the connector heavily corroded (green) on the red connector closest to the pump for the red wire. I did some thorough cleaning and put it back together with some electric grease.
No more problems until the other day when it died while riding. Once again no hum of the pump when the key was turned. A little wiggling of the jumper and it was off again.
Yesterday I once again pulled the front bodywork off to work on that connection. I cleaned it as bestas anyone could. I put it together with lots of electric grease. Tested it by wiggling it like crazy. All was good. So I put the bodywork back on and the front trunk and something told me to check it again. AND IT DIDN'T WORK!
