Default Somthing SIMPLE AND DUMB

I have to be missing something.....I just picked up a 2003 Predator.....the guy I bought it from...wheeled it out of the garage....hit the key with full choke, and off she went...fired right up. Got it home....and again....fired right up.....sat for a few hours, while I got yelled at by the wife. Went back to the garage...and now....NADA....I can't get her to fire.

FULL choke.....playing withe the throttle.....NADA.....what am I missing? No fuel??? no Air??? I know it has spark

any ideas??

First off make sure the fuel is turned on. The previous owner may have turned it off. If it is on, start with a fresh plug.

If it has been fired up several ties with the choke on and not warmed up it is probably flooded. Put a fresh plug in it.

Aside from a Champion plug in it, it was not tight as all...had good color, but was part of the issue.

Put a new NGK in it, puled the choke out, hit the button, and she Fired....BUT

After about 10 seconds I push the choke in ,,and she dies...pull the choke back out, try and refire...and NADA.try with choke in...NADA, play with the throttle...NADA..it did not sould like the battery was pushing enough Juice....I am wodering if a low battery could aid my issue?

But once the engine is fired the batt should not be an issue right???

I would say the choke should stay out longer than 10 seconds after a cold start, I'd go at least a minute running with choke. As for a low battery, not sure if that would cause a no start condition, but it certainly wouldn't help it, try to charge it and see if it starts better then.

SIMPLE.....AND BOYYYYY AM I STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering why it would not run....Or only run with choke on briefly!

well....DUHHHH..improper fuel/air mixture. TOO MUCH AIR.....so i got to looking.

None of the air ducts were tight....the air filer lid was loose, and the hose clamp to the carb was missing.

Tightened everything up, added a hose clamp...and PRESTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SHE IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! purrrrrrrs like a kitten....music to my ears.
