Default Rope

Do I have to use a fairlead instead of the roller that can with my cable?

Im not really sure what to do when I make the switch

From what I've read you should change the roller fairlead and put a new one on. The regular cable can put nicks in the older fairlead which would lead to cuts in the rope over time.

i think you do need a differnt roller fairlead for use w/ the syn rope.

I run a synthetic rope and this is what my fairlead looks like. I don't have the flat rope like this.

It doesn't really matter what fairlead you use, as long as it is in perfect condition. Chances are if you've used steel on it before now you'll want to change it. If you are using rollers, make sure the bolts are tight.
We used to use alloy hause fairleads but found they weren't tough enough and since moved to stainless. Though I'm sure alloy would be fine for ATV useage. Even a steel hause will be fine as long as it is baby bum smooth.
