Default Closed because of mud??

So we thought we would ride like a lot of others on this beautiful day, get to Rampart Range Road in Pike NF and see this big sign " Closed because of mud, only open to snowmobiles". I didn't see any snowmobiles but a lot of clean dirt bikes and clean ATVs sitting in the back of trucks and on trailers. A lot of disappointed riders.

Judging by the NF and the fact that they could be running sleds still, I am thinking you must be in New Foundland Canada???

Just another new tactic the snowmobilers and tree huggers are using to keep atv's off the trails.

Can,t be, no motorized vehicles allowed any time on park land, and the majority of land (,Crown/Public) is never closed off, just a "Use at your own risk" posting at most if the roads are washed out.

It honestly looks like what NH does. They close the trails for "mud season" until they are dry enough to ride on without damaging the trails too much. I'm not sure what kind of rain/snow they had but some years the mud season is extended out our way.

LOL! They do the same thing here in MN in the Spring if it's been really wet. The DNR will post trail closings until they dry up a bit so they don't get too trashed.

most of the newengland states close for mud season to help lessen the damage. beats having no trails to rie on at all, but it does suck when you go to ride and can't for sure.
