Default Polaris X2 safari machine

Hey all, here's some pics of the completed??? project. I wanted to be able to do a round trip of 150 miles or so, and I get about 20 mpg. So, I knew I needed a gas can. I also wanted to be able to take a passenger (I have an extra cushion for the jump seat) with me so here's what I did. I got the Polaris structured bag (have had it for a few years and it's holding up great), a Polaris tank bag (also holding up great), a rear raised rack that uses existing bolts to bolt down got here: Polaris SPORTSMAN X2 CUSTOM REAR CARGO LUGGAGE RACK 800: eBay Motors (item 300380605720 end time May-23-10 14:11:15 PDT), a Rotopax 2-2 gallon gas can set, and a Contico plastic locker box that I got at Walmart. I will use the big Contico box to store extra clothing and light items like a first aid kit. I use the front structured bag for cameras, small cooler, and other items. I use the tank bag for binoculars, matches, lighter, compass, and maps. And, the Rotopax is obvious. I think if I can't fit everything I'll be carrying too much.

Looks good MH! I would recommend IF taking the 2nd passenger you may want to move those Rotopax to the front to keep less weight off the rear IF you plan on hill climbing.
If all flat your as safe as.....its smooth sailing......@$%@@...Gilligan! lol..lol...j/k

Looks fun, enjoy and I like your setup man!

My wife barely weighs over 100 lbs. now. I'll keep heavier items in the front and lighter stuff in the back. I've found if I jack up the rear springs a notch that it moves some of the weight forward.

Hey would you know how heavy the dual Roto pax is when filled with Gas? Their heavy!

Feels like almost 50 lbs, maybe somewhere like 40, what do you think?

I think gas is about 10 lbs. per gallon so the Rotopax is probably 45 lbs. or so filled with gas. I chose the 2-2 gal. route just so I don't have to handle this huge narrow thing at a gas pump. I'd rather fill up the 2 gallon pax and clip them together. The Contico box almost fits the rack I bought like it was meant for it.

Yea I got the clips too. Gives ya a little more flexability especially if you just want to haul one.
