05 800 sportsman missing after hitting water

Default 05 800 sportsman missing after hitting water

i went to WV and was on a trail hitting some water puddles not deep just splashing up and all of a sudden my 800 went to missing when not in full throttle half and below missing bad and speedo would keep going check eng and speedo would go from 0 to 70 and back to 0 and then go up to what i was running while riding anyone know what i need to check!! I did not put it in any deep water so im sort of dumb founded when it went to doing this!!!

Might be getting water in the end of the spark plug wires....Maybe try pulling them, clean with steel wool if there is any rusting, and put some dielectric grease in the boot and replace...

had the same problem with my 06 and found the caps were to long , cut half inch off dielectric grease never had a problem since

Thumbs up miss

Also could be water/steam in the intake. Die-electric grease on all the connections!! Silcone spray on all the wires/connections too!!
