Default polaris tools

I have an '03 trailblazer 400 and i'm trying to change the mag side seal, but there is a slit nut (another website called it that) and I can't find a socket for it. I found one for a 4 slot, but mine is a 6 slot. Is there somewhere that someone knows where to find one? Or is there another way to get it off and back on once I change the seal? I am a welder/fabricator and can build something from a deepwell socket, but I have fairly expensive sockets (matco) and dont want to do that if there is an easier or cheaper way.

I have never heard of a slit nut.
You mean one of these?

no, not quite. It acutally looks like a internally threaded ring with 6 notches evenly spaced around the outside. sort of like a axle nut on the GM solid axle front end, but it's a different size. I hope this helps. I can take a picture if you still don't know what i'm talking about. Thanks
