Default 800 twin service manual (intake boot install)

Does anyone have a service manual for an 800? Does it call for locktite on the two bolts? What color? What are the bolts supposed to be torqued to? I have a backfiring on decel issue so I took the boot off to see if it was cracked but it is fine. One thing I noticed, the bolts were very hard to get out and they have something silver on the threads, would that be silver locktite?

the book calls for 18 ft .lbs for the intake or the exhaust manifold. no mention of any lock tite. it may be either a lock tite or a anti seize lube(most likely that being silver, but just a guess)

I'd say lock tight isn't necessary just torque to specs. Never seen a silver lock tight. Sounds more like anti-seize on the bolt.

most likley anti seize to prevent bolt from lockiny up an pulling threads out you can tell if it anti seize all you need to do is touch it within 5min that sh-t will be everywhere

Silver locktite is actually an anti seize agent, and it's a good thing they had it there because I thought I was going to twist the bolts off trying to get them out! It was bad enough that I don't trust them any more and I'm gonna order new ones, I kinda tweaked the heads too since there's not much space between the heads and the boot for a socket to fit. I put it back this morning with the old bolts and no locktite and the bolts went in a lot easier.

I put it back with some anti-seize, I'ill re-torque it after a 100 miles or so. I spoke to the dealer today and they said my exhaust manifold is cracked. I guess that's where the back firing is coming from, at least I hope so. I'm not getting a good feeling about polaris atvs.
