Default Wanting to go bigger

Hello everyone, I'm the proud owner (WV is Honda land, believe me) of an 09' Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I like most everything about it but I'd like a bit more ground clearance. I don't do much/any mudding but the trails are rocky and even with the respectable stock ground clearance I get some dragging here and there. So, I am looking for suggestions for a taller (26/27 inch tire) that is pretty light and something easy on the wallet. I'd prefer a light tire as to not lose much performance (aka, need a clutch kit) and something that has a nice ride (radial) as I mainly stick to trails but those can get pretty rocky at times. I had found that Kenda makes the Bear Claw in a 27 that I can get for like $360 and I've also looked at the Big Horn 2.0's but those are a touch more and I've not seen them in a 27 inch tire. So, what would you all suggest?

Thanks!

If you don't want to do the clutch work I would keep to going up only one size. I would look at eBay. I got Mudlite XTRs for around $460 for a set with no shipping. Don't know weights of tires too good though.
