87 trailboss 250 no spark

Hi there im new here but i bought my son a 87 trailboss i had it running and parked it back in the garage now it has no spark im not sure on how to check the coil or cdi or what the problem is if anyone has any ideas that would be great thnx

check plug first then stator then cdi
