I bought my 01 scrammy 500 4x4 new in 00,and the first reason I bought it was because it was American Made by a American Company. The other reasons was the suspension travel, true 4x4 and had heard the 500's were reliable engines. So now it's over 10 years old and runs like a Champ! I have had it mudding, plowing snow since it was new,and been pretty hard on her and hav'nt had a problem yet (knock on wood). I actually still have the original belt on her.I have a new belt but wanted to see if she could make it 10years of snow plowing, since some say the belt driven quads are crap and that not having a low gear pushing snow will eat the belt(wrong). I do take the maintance on her very seriously and that goes a long way. I LOVE my Scrammy 4x4

I bought my Polaris because I couldn't afford a Yamaha. The longer I have had it the more I like it. It has had it's fair share of problems, but overall it's a decent machine.

Well from what I can tell, pretty much everybody makes a descent quad... that being said, I bought my trailblazer 400 about 2 years ago. I personally know all 3 of the previous owners so I know about the maintenance that has been done on it(and one of them the lack of). I've owned a couple Honda's, a yamaha, and a polaris for a while and I would say that if/when i get another quad it's definately gonna be a polaris... For it being a 400 it's a pretty good size atv, but it rides so smooth. It starts EVERY time. VERY low smoke for it being 2 stroke, I think I love the oil injection.... no mixing oil/gas makes it easy to just pull up to the pump and refuel. I've had a couple problems with it, one from a previous owners neglect(no oil in the balance shaft gear case, so I had to replace the crank seal) and the other was the temp sensor that controls the cooling fan went out. But since I've kept up with the maintinence and can take it out and beat on it hard all day and it always takes me home and is ready for more!

Oh yeah, worked at a Polaris dealership for 15 years so I had all the parts, tech info, and special tools needed to fix them(and until I quit my job, I got parts at a little over cost)
Wish you were my neighbor!
