I've been running AMSOIL 0W40 in my '03 600 twin since the first oil change. It is readily available and iIhave not had any problems with it so far.

When I have my wife return the 10-40, I will have her get Amsoil! The "Available everywhere" thing convinced me! Thanks again folks!

I have read elsewhere that Polaris was rebranded Amsoil, it made sense to me as Amsoil is made in Superior, WI, and close neighbors with Polaris. I can't say it's a fact, tho. And Amsoil does filters, as well. Could do an 'oil change' kit very easily.

I don't think they make an oil filter for Atv's but they do have the K&N brand and they are good filters but also they have a "nut" welded on the end which makes the hard to reach oil filters way easy to take off. For my model of atv, a filter wrench is almost impossible to get on, so the K&N are great for this application....

That's good to know Big600! I have a brand new Polaris filter, so I guess I will use it this time and the next one will be a K&N.
