sportsman handling
Tried doing some searching on here and my question still hasn't been answered. I bought a 07 500x2 18 months ago and love the quad. The one problem I dislike is the way it handles on high speed bends, it feels like its going to roll over. One thing I did to help improve this was I installed heavy duty springs in the front (even though my quad had two hundred miles on it those stock springs were junk). Still driving on semi-hard surfaces going 30mph and over it still feels like my quad is pushing and doesn't want to make the turn. I do have the stock tires on and there is over 700 miles on the quad now, my rear springs are adjusted all the way up. I am looking at purchasing some maxxis bighorns for the quad to maybe help my situation, this tire appears to best suite my driving terrain. I don't want to go to a bigger tire because that will even create more sidewall flex, right? Should I get the original bh or go with the lighter 2.0?

Just about any aftermarket tire will improve the handling vs. the oem tires. A 6ply will have less flex than a 4,3,2 you get the point. If your looking at the big horns (good all around choice!) I'd consider the 2.0's They're a bit lighter, radial which rides great, and same tread design as the original BH just not as thick of a lug. You can also pick up heavy duty rear springs which might help with body roll.

Unless somethings changed, NO Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but the sportsman's come with the carlisle AT-489's 3 ply or some models come with the carlisle ACT radial 3 ply. My magnum had the 489's stock which weren't completely terrible . And my 07 deluxe came with the carlisle PXT/better known as ACT's radial which handle and grip pretty good for a stock but are a little squishy in the corners. They do wear like iron though. Still trying to get them worn down to justify new zilla's this year.
