Crankcase problem?
#1
I am in need of help regarding my 1990 350L,
While running it for the first time after the winter shut down the old girl sort of backfired at high revs coughed and died, now there is very little draw through the carb even though there is plenty of compression in the cylinder head, it will occasionally fire but mostly just pools fuel in the air filter,
Has it popped a seal somewhere or is there something obvious that I am missing, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check the crank seal behind the drive clutch, could have popped out or deteriorated from gas sitting in the crankcase, causing lack of bottom end compression. This could account for the excess gas into the air box. OPT

where do I send the beer? Spot on OPT, the seal had badly deteriorated and blown out so correct on both counts and the primary drive seal is buggered too so I can replace that before excessive water ingress, Thank you
