I think I'm going to order a boot kit from CV man (CV restoration) as well as a spare axle. He has them on ebay for under 100 bucks with shipping.

Anyone ever use one of his axles. Any feedback is appreciated.

if it's a really small hole try using a small course thread screw with some sealant on it or even try a tire plug.. i dunno if its a small hole i dont see a problem with a temp fix if you gotta get your ride on...just stay out of the water if you can..

I siliconed it on Friday and put 90 Miles on Saturday. The silicone actually held up well. I'm going to pull the axle again and open up the inner joint to see if there is any contamination. If there is I will clean it out and regrease. The siliconed boot will do fine till a replacement comes in.

Gonna invest in some more substantial A-Arm guards. Some nice ones on Ebay for 115 for all four.
Wish I had access to a metal shop and some alluminum. I would make my own.

Ebay has the entire cv axle for what the dealer would charge for the two boots. Just bought, put one on and tested. Works like a charm.

For just to go for your ride I would put a tiny bicycle tire patch with it's glue over the pin hole. I did it in a emergency, then cleaned out the CV joint and changed the boot after the ride ,no harm done.

Was it from CV restoration by any chance. I think I will buy one from them, just looking for some feedback. I think I've read in the past good things. It would be nice to have a spare.

I looked at theirs and even spoke with them over the phone. They seemed to have great feedback and were very helpful on the phone. I actually ended up buying this one Item# 370417336022 from Gerson Parts LLC on Ebay and it was just over $90 after shipping. Seems to be a solid good part.
