Default 850 XP Shock Adjustment

Im just trying to figure out how to stiffen my front suspension using the spring tool, is the highest groove the stiffest setting?

Yes the highest setting is the stiffest.
Jacking the quad in the air with tires of the ground.
Will relieve some tension from the spring. Making it easier
To turn with the spanner wrench. Some wd40 maybe needed to help with the job.

Does adjusting the spring tension adjust ground clearance of the quad as well or simply spring pre-load?

If your springs are sagged out then it should lift the front end some.

technically the lowest groove is the stiffest and you gain maybe a half an inch in ground clearance.

So is it the lowest groove OR the highest grove to obtain the stiffest shock setting? I put a Moose Plow on and Im looking to eliminate some of the front end sag...

*Lowest grove being the 1st notch. Highest grove being the last notch*

Take a minute to look at it, and you'll be able to figure it out. The more "compressed" the spring is, the "stiffer" the setting. When it is in the "lowest" notch, it is compressing the the spring the most... stiffest setting. Each notch "up" drops the adjuster and "decompresses" the spring a little at each notch... softer setting.
