I met Dave from HPD last weekend (he races for Daryl at HPD) and he showed me on my TBlazer where the original steering post bearing is on by rivits. He said all Polaris' are like this.

If your steering has play (move handle bars and watch bearing area) and mine did you need this part: Steering Post Bearing Click "view picture in link to see it.

He said it will make your steering much more responsive. for only $34.95 I'll be ordering one

I recently bought and installed one on my xplorer. I originally bought one from hot seat performance and they are still backordered. After waiting for 3 weeks i decided to get the hpd one. Only took 2 days. You have to take the headlight pod apart and pull the steering post up. I also put a new post in since i was in there. The bushing does not fit over the post. You have to lightly sand the inside to get it to fit right. Go slow and don't go too far. Then you have to drill 1/4" holes out where the rivets used to be for the screws and nuts they provide. You will have to use a dremel tool or right angle drill to get in there. You can also go in from the top if you have a long enough drill bit. Just follow the directions and that's it. I have no play in my steering and it handles much better. It's definitely worth the extra 35 bucks.

On the TBLazer the steering post slides right up (no headlight pod to remove). Dave did mention what you said about having to drill out the rivit holes though.

Thanks for the review!

Not only more responsive, and removal of play in the steering, but I have seen them and they will likely last the life of your machine.
