Default adding a recoil to a '10 sportsman

has anyone actually done this? i see many references to it being done in internet searches, but nothing that makes me believe it is easily possible.

i *think* our flywheels have the "nubs" on them that the recoil grabs onto, at least the polaris parts page shows them.

does anyone have any insight into this?

my machine is a '10 sportsman 500 carb

All these ATVs share your 3090239 Flywheel ,I d check if any of them have a pull start. IF I had to guess Id say any fuji recoil would bolt on and work with that flywheel, your "nubs" look the same as they always have.

This is just the mod I was thinking of the other day when my 2010 500HO wouldn't start due to a flat battery.

Keep us posted

Not sure if it's but I hear the ATVs with a ECM will not start with the pull rope if the battery is dead or weak.
If this is true, then it almost makes a backup pull start pointless to have anyways.

That was my understanding as well if the battery was dead.

My 2004.5 500 HO non EFI has the ECM on it, I know this because it had the recall. It will start with the pull rope on a fully dead battery in the dead of winter. So, a backup pull start is beneficial.
