850XP timing issues
#12
Update!!
After pulling the engine apart, the timing had indeed jumped... 4 teeth. No other damage was found. Big Jeff's 850 had jumped 2 teeth. We cut a small piece of tubular steel to fit behind the cam chain tensioner so it couldn't collapse again, and re-assembled both quads. Both started right up, and after some checking stuff out, we went for a little ride.. The power is still there, and everything seems fine. I did notice some dust in the air ducting to the motor, and sealed those joints with RTV. XP owners, check those boots. They could let dust in after the air filter and destroy your rings.
