Default ?? Is it suppose to do that??

I recently purchased a 05 polaris sportsman 500, when I turn off the quad after riding there is a gas leak. The gas is coming out the drain line, is it suppose to do that? It stops when I shut off the gas, is this another issue making itself known? Sure could use some help...

No, its not supposed to do that, it sounds like the float is sticking open.

Carb not EFI, should I do anything with the float...possibly a carb rebuild? It runs great, I will also check if it leaks while running.

If your going to pull the carb you might as well rebuild it. It could just be a piece of dirt holding the float open.
