Default Replacement Springs.

The stock front springs on my 2011 sportsman 550 eps are to soft. High Lifter makes a set of replacement springs for the 2009-2010 - 550-850, so i called them and they told me they didn`t know if the springs would fit my 2011 550. They told me they were waiting on polaris to send them the specs on the new machines, but does anybody know if the 2010 springs will fit my 2011 ATV ?.

Don't know if any of the parts places with micro fiche have the 2011 part numbers, but you could compare them if they do.

2011 550/850 XP springs are a different part number and size then the 09-10. Rates are real close but diameter is different. Gotta love Polaris for always changing it up

Have you dialed the up the rebound to the stiffest setting? I thought all the XPs came with HD springs from stock.

HD springs set at the stiffest are much to uncomfortable of a ride I find.

I did adjust the front springs one notch stiffer, because on my first ride i was making a right hand turn from one road to another, i was only going about 10-12 mph and there was so much body roll to the left that the right rear tire came off the ground and it felt like i was going to roll off over the front end.
So i did adjust the front springs, and i also just got a new set of Bighorn 2.0`s tires, but i havn`t had a chance to get out and try them out yet, there is to much ice and snow on the road to go riding, but hopefully the new tire will help make a difference.

How many more notches do you have left on the front springs to stiffen them up? If the tires do not do it for you, max the front springs to the max if you have to. Worth a try.

There are three or four more notches left for adjustment. I will see what the new tires do for handling and go from there.
