I have a new set for a 20" tire, but my trail boss is 22". Is there a way to lenghthen tire chains instead of dropping 90 bucks on new ones?

Did you try to fit them on your tires? Most chain sets fit several different tire sizes. Mine said they fit the 22 inch tires on my Scrambler, but I actually had to shorten them.

90 bucks seems a little steep for a set of chains. Mine were only $35.

yeah.. i tried them and they didn't fit around the tires. I need to add some length. Priced out the clips like above, and they were 2 bucks each at lowes. That would be almost 25 bucks for materials to do it.. The same vbar chains longer at cabelas are 80. Guess i need to decide..

I assume you were deflating your tires before installing? If not, try it and see. Worth a shot.

Thats how we always put them on. When you do it that way, the chains are really tight on the tire and don't move at all. It works really well. Can't really take credit for it though, wasn't my idea, just how i was taught to put them on!
