dies going into reverse
#1
I have a 1998 xplorer 300 I sometimes dies when I put it into reverse unless I hold down the overide switch. Any ideas? I had an engine change from the previous owner. Starter also seems to be bad.

I traded for a 98 a while back. It only had 600 actual miles on it. Original tires and it looked like it just came off the show room floor.
The first thing I did was unhook this wire. I knew it would save me a lot of problems later on.

it is a safety feature that causes it to cut out when backing up so you dont fly backwards like a dummy.
