Chain troubles
#1
Greetings people!
Im having a strange issue with a new chain I ordered. Maybe you experts have heard of this before and can shed some light as to what the deal is.....
I have a 96 Scrambler 400 4x4. I rebuilt the trans, and while I was there I decided to replace the rear chain sprockets, as well as the chain. The sprockets are perfect and exactly what I took off.... Same # of teeth and identical in every way.
Now the chain I took off has 84 pins between the links, counting the master link. The new chain also has 84 pins counting the master link. The new chain would not go on as it appeared to be about a full link short. After holding it up against my old one, it is short! But both have 84 pins and the distance between the links appear to be the same.
Does anyone know why this may be?
Thanks in advance!
