Angry replacement front hub nuts 96 xp 500

Hi guys/gals. I'm retired AF and a disabled vet who has nothing to do but tweek my vehicles and fix stuff till i hurt and then nap with the dogs. I'm currently filling all the trim holes in my house with putty...weee...

Here's my malfunction. 96 Sportsman 500 4x4. The origional front spindle ends were 3/4 and the nut came with a castle cover doohikey that fit over the nut and then cotter pin. The new spindles are 7/8 and the nut is retained with a worthless c-clip. I drilled holes in the shafts so i could use a cotter pin which still losens enough to cause the hub to wiggle. This would be the right hub since the spindle rotation is opposite of the nut and therefore wants to spin off. I can't seem to find a 7/8 castle nut thin enough to be useful. I think they need to be 7/8 castle 14 fine thread SAE? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Also fyi.....my hubs do not lock due to the cam nut edges... that force the bearings up into the hub are rounded.....so check ur nuts!

Those spindles use a nylon lock nut(that Polaris recommends replacing every use) these are not cheap.I just tighten up and check periodically
