Exclamation Electrical help

Hi, i have a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500. i recently replaced the battery because the old one was shot. Now things actually work and it starts, but some things still dont work and i dont know why....

the speedometer, odometer, neutral indicator light, and the 4 wheel drive don't work. can anyone please tell me what i should do?

welcome to the forum. have you checked the voltage of the battery while the bike is runnign to make sure the bike is charging? should be 13.5 volts or better when you rev it up. does the awd indecator light up when switch is pushed? if not check for power to it and make sure light bulb isn't blown. i don;t beleave there is any fuses. on newer bikes (can't remember how old it effects) if the speedo isn't working, neither will the awd as the awd is ran through the speedo.

dont some of them have a 9volt battery in the speedo?as for the lights , you probably blew the bulbs while the battery was dead, the battery acts as a buffer, without one it sends too much juicen and blows the bulbs

not sure about that year but the newer ones w/ the 9 volt battery hook ups is actually used for testing by the factory guys i was told and it used after.

Speed sensor repaired most if not all of those problems when I first got my 02 500.
