There is a thread about spacers under the front springs..goes on the bottom between the base of the springs and the shock..i used 1.5" diameter pvc pipe i believe...about 1.5" long..use hose clamps all around the springs to draw them up (of course the bike is on jacks stands)...then i split the pipe, opened it up and slipped it between the newly opened gap..then i used a 1.5" coupling (split as well) to seal the split spacer piece back together...and pvc cemented it all together so the 2 ieces become i unit...i can email you pics of my setup if you would like..i read about the spacer thing on this forum . BUT they wanted ya to remove the shocks from the bike,,,,lotsa more werk...so i used the hose clamps to compress the springs thus creating the gap needed for the spacer...much easier than removing body panels and the shocks...if i have yer email i can send you pics....i guess i could post them here now that i think about it.

You will probably need wheel spacers in the front. 9 inch tires are very close my old titan 589's I needed one inch spacers on the front. It makes the tires stick out a little bit though.

I got a wheel and tire package on line with kenda bear claws. I stayed with original size in front, but the rears were an inch narrower. I wanted the front to be the same as stock so it was easier to steer. Mine was a 2000 sp 500.

Davidhggrd,

if you look under the "ask the expert" section under this polaris section, on the "stickys" you will see an article about homemade spring spacers...this is the theory I used but if you use a handfull of hose clamps you can compress yer springs with no disassembly, and install them. split the spacers, then use a pvc "coupler", glued with pvc cement over the split ya made to slip them on...obviously the cooupler is split as well and just offset the 2 splits 180 degrees from each other...much easier than disassembling the fenders....
