Default '06 SP 500 HO front end SQUEAK...SQUEAK

OK just installed my new starter (previous thread- thanks all) and a new problem arises.

Front wheels squeak.

i noticed this when riding slowly and have since turned off machine, jacked the front wheels up off the ground, and when i spin the front tires i hear the squeak. sounds like its comming from where the front tie rods meet the tyranny.

really trying to get this atv ready for a trip to WV Hatfield McCoy next month and shes fighting me with problems.

thanks for any suggestions

Are you sure it's coming from the front drive unit. My brakes will drag slightly once and a while and sound like it's coming from the front drive. Have someone gently apply the brakes as you spin the tires to see if the sound changes to rule that out.

Did you mean the axles meet the front drive unit?

you are correct, where the axles meet the front drive unit, good catch, sorry about that.

Anyway i took the front wheels off, jacked up the front end and was able to verify that it is only the brake pad rubbing.

LOL. I think that just comes with the territory of owning high dollar toys. I would guess that alot of us on here are that way. I know I am to an extent.
